Notre projet a apport\u00e9 une nouvelle dimension \u00e0 l'industrie aquacole en favorisant le passage de la monoculture \u00e0 la polyculture int\u00e9gr\u00e9e. L'int\u00e9gration du syst\u00e8me de production aquacole r\u00e9duit non seulement le risque commercial en proposant une gamme diversifi\u00e9e de produits \u00e0 valeur nutritive et commerciale, mais permet \u00e9galement la mise en place d'un outil de biotimation autour de la monoculture commerciale existante en eau libre. Mauricoast Ltd, pionnier du secteur, a \u00e9t\u00e9 le premier \u00e0 r\u00e9ussir l'\u00e9levage de l'holothurie de sable (Holothuria scabra) \u00e0 l'\u00eele Maurice. L'ostr\u00e9iculture<\/h3>

Mauricoast Ltd est impliqu\u00e9e dans l'ostr\u00e9iculture depuis 2020, apr\u00e8s un premier essai d'importation de naissains d'hu\u00eetres de France destin\u00e9s \u00e0 \u00eatre \u00e9lev\u00e9s dans le Grand Barachois de Poudre d'Or. Par la suite, l'entreprise s'est concentr\u00e9e sur les esp\u00e8ces d'hu\u00eetres locales, \u00e0 savoir l'hu\u00eetre creuse (Saccostrea cucullata) et l'hu\u00eetre perli\u00e8re (Pinctada sp.). Ces deux esp\u00e8ces sont naturellement pr\u00e9sentes dans le Grand Barachois de Poudre d'Or et le principe d'\u00e9levage adopt\u00e9 par l'entreprise implique la collecte des naissains des deux esp\u00e8ces d'hu\u00eetres cibl\u00e9es sur des collecteurs de naissains sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9s d\u00e9ploy\u00e9s dans le barachois, puis leur grossissement dans des paniers \u00e0 hu\u00eetres jusqu'\u00e0 leur taille commerciale.\n\n<\/p><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Installation de purification d'hu\u00eetres<\/h3>

En 2024, l'entreprise a mis en place la premi\u00e8re installation de purification d'hu\u00eetres de l'\u00eele gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 un projet cofinanc\u00e9 par le Conseil mauricien pour la recherche et l'innovation (MRIC) et Mauricoast Ltd (MRIC-SISM-BG-17, de 2023 \u00e0 2024). L'entreprise reconna\u00eet la n\u00e9cessit\u00e9 de purifier les hu\u00eetres avant leur consommation et l'absence d'une telle installation sur l'\u00eele. Ce projet innovant a d\u00e9montr\u00e9 que les hu\u00eetres non purifi\u00e9es \u00e9taient impropres \u00e0 la consommation et qu'une p\u00e9riode de purification de 10 jours \u00e9tait n\u00e9cessaire pour se conformer aux directives de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 alimentaire des lois sur les aliments de 1999 et 2022 de l'\u00eele Maurice.\n<\/p><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

En 2021, Mauricoast Ltd a lanc\u00e9 un projet innovant d'\u00e9levage de tilapias rouges en milieu marin. Le Conseil mauricien de la recherche et de l'innovation (MRIC, num\u00e9ro de projet MRIC\/SCA-A 070) a financ\u00e9 le projet et la subvention s'inscrit dans la strat\u00e9gie mise en place par le gouvernement mauricien pour accro\u00eetre la production alimentaire locale. Biotechnologie marine<\/h3>

Ce projet innovant vise \u00e0 commercialiser trois esp\u00e8ces de microalgues difficilement disponibles localement et utilisables \u00e0 la fois comme aliments vivants et comme aliments fonctionnels. Le d\u00e9veloppement de cette unique source d'aliments vivants \u00e0 Maurice pourrait non seulement dynamiser l'industrie aquacole du pays, mais aussi permettre le d\u00e9veloppement d'un nouveau produit destin\u00e9 \u00e0 l'exportation. Les produits nutraceutiques \u00e0 base de microalgues marines, fabriqu\u00e9s \u00e0 Maurice, stimuleront le secteur des biotechnologies bleues, consid\u00e9r\u00e9 comme un pilier national pour accro\u00eetre les revenus d'exportation et cr\u00e9er des emplois.
